Fil-Australian Jessica Laurance joins the FilAmSports family.

FilAmSports is thrilled to welcome sprinter #JessicaLaurance to our management family! Jessica specializes in the 100-meter and 200-meter events.

Jessica’s roots connect her to Tanay, Rizal, Philippines, the hometown of her mother before she moved to Australia. "I recently visited Tanay, it already feels like home with everyone being so welcoming. My favorite part about Tanay is spending time with my relatives and riding tricycles while exploring the town's sceneries!” Jessica shares.

Jessica made a splash at the recent Philippine Athletics Championships held in New Clark City. She claimed victory in the 100-meter sprint, taking home the gold. In a thrilling 200-meter race, she finished second to Philippine National Team star and legend Kristina Knott. "What I'll always remember about the Championships is the amazing support and genuine warmth from everyone," Laurance said. "The way I was welcomed made me feel like I truly belonged, meeting so many kind hearted and friendly people, it reminded me of the deep sense of our community.”

Representing the Philippines on the track has always been a driving ambition for Jessica. Though she resides in Australia, a deep desire to connect with her mother's Filipino roots and explore her heritage has been a constant pull. "Competing for the Philippines is my way of honoring my family, my mother's heritage, and our family name," Laurance explains. "My family has always taught me to carry myself with resilience, pride and to stay grounded in who I am and in everything I do.. This opportunity would be a deeply meaningful way for me to show appreciation for their sacrifices which have shaped who I am today, and most importantly make my family proud. “

Jessica’s message to young & aspiring athletes:

Never underestimate your power to achieve something. Dreams may take weeks, or they may take years and no matter what, there will always be challenges, setbacks and moments you doubt yourself. Always remember to believe in yourself and trust your journey as you are capable of more than you think.
