We are pleased to announce that Bernalyn Bejoy has recently joined the FilAmSports team. FilAmSports will assist Bejoy in her marketing and public relations efforts. Bejoy, a member of the Philippine National Team, is supported by the Philippine Sports Commission and the Philippine Athletics Track and Field Association.
Bejoy specializes in the 800-meter event and hails from Bacolod City, Negros Occidental. During her time in grade school, Bernalyn initially expressed an interest in playing volleyball. However, due to the unavailability of the program at her school, she opted for track and field, a sport for which she discovered a natural talent. To manage her familial responsibilities and financial needs, Bejoy found part-time employment in canteens while completing her high school education.
“Being a role model for young athletes is a huge responsibility and privilege,” adds Bejoy. “It means that I get to inspire, motivate, and mentor the next generation of athletes to strive for excellence, overcome obstacles, and uphold the values of sportsmanship. When someone says they look up to me, it is humbling and motivates me to be the best version of myself both on and off the field. It means that my actions and words have the power to influence and shape the dreams and aspirations of others, and I value that trust and admiration, always striving to set a good example and be a positive influence in their lives.”
Representing the Philippines in international competition requires showcasing our talents. It is an opportunity to bring pride and honor to our country, to unite Filipinos all over the world, and to inspire the next generation of athletes and citizens. It represents a profound sense of responsibility, dedication, and pride as we carry the flag and compete against the best from other countries. Above all, it is a privilege with the responsibility of embodying the Filipino people’s values, spirit, strength, and passion.
