![Flag Football Philippines and FilAmSports Forge Strategic Partnership to Elevate the Game
[Manila, Philippines, September 22, 2025] AMERICAN TACKLE FOOTBALL ASSOCIATION OF THE PHILIPPINES (ATFAP) and its official Flag Football arm FLAG FOOTBALL PHILIPPINES @flagfootballphilippines), the official governing body of flag football in the country, has entered into a strategic partnership with FILAM SPORTS @filamsports to accelerate the growth of the sport nationwide and abroad.
Through this collaboration, both organizations will work closely on player development, talent identification, marketing, and public relations initiatives, creating more opportunities for Filipino athletes to excel in flag football and gain exposure on the international stage.
Founded in 2009 by Joseph Pagulayan, FFP which has been running flag football programs and tournaments for more than 20 years was integrated into ATFAP as its official Flag Football unit in 2018. ATFAP is an allied member of the International Federation of American Football (IFAF), the global governing body for American and flag football recognized by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) and SportAccord.
Locally, ATFAP is officially recognized by both the Philippine Olympic Committee (POC) and the Philippine Sports Commission (PSC).
With affiliations in Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao, FFP-ATFAP remains committed to growing the game nationwide while fielding competitive teams to represent the Philippines in international competitions.
FilAmSports, meanwhile, is dedicated to uniting Filipino-heritage athletes worldwide. Through collaboration, shared learning, and strong community ties, the organization empowers athletes and contributes to national progress. Guided by its mission, Para Sa Bayan - for country - for each other, FilAmSports works to uplift and inspire Filipinos across the globe.
