ree

FilAmSports is proud to introduce the newest member of our family, Amanda Javellana.

Amanda is a hammer throw specialist who recently threw 54.08 at the Junior Olympics in July, a throw that surpasses the 2023 Southeast Asian Games bronze standard of 49.61 meters.

A senior at Pleasant Grove High School, Amanda was born in Florida, raised in Sacramento, CA, and recently committed to continue her academic and athletic career at Long Beach State University.

Both her parents hail from Bacolod, a place she has visited often. She shares her love for spending time with family in the Philippines at the beach and enjoying tropical fruits, and adds that she hopes to visit Palawan in the future.

"It is important to represent the Philippines because my culture has been a defining factor to who I am today," Javellana says. "Growing up, I loved cheering for the great Filipino figures on my screen, and I would love to give that same experience to the upcoming generations."
