SEA Games 2025: Gabriel Dinette bags wrestling gold for PH


BANGKOK — Gabriel Thomas Dinette delivered a gold medal for the Philippines in the wrestling competitions at the 33rd Southeast Asian Games after ruling the men’s 86-kilogram freestyle division Friday.

Competing on the final day of action, Dinette went unbeaten in four matches, including a 4-0 win over Thailand’s Chiranuwat Chamnanjan. He capped his campaign with another 4-0 victory over Singapore’s Weng Luen Gary Chow to secure the gold.

Earlier this year, Dinette won double gold medals at the Philippine Wrestling National Championships, topping the 86kg freestyle and the Greco-Roman 82kg divisions. The Philippine team also secured two silver medals on the final day, courtesy of Hayden Tyler Ancheta and Ronil Tubog.
